SISTERHOOD SPOTLIGHTS ILLUMINATE LOCAL GIRLS WHO INSPIRE

Typically, in Boston on Marathon Monday the finish line is teeming with runners and fans alike. Restaurants from Kenmore Square to Newbury Street are jam-packed. Red Sox fans have ventured from Fenway to Back Bay. Our treasured Patriot's Day is in full swing.
Yet in 2020, sadness and solitude ran hand in hand along the Marathon route and beyond. From Hopkinton to Heart Break Hill. From Wellesley College to Boston College. From the front lines of city hospitals to the back lines of neighborhood grocery stores.
Still, as citizens of #BostonStrongNation we know that brighter (and healthier days) lie ahead. The race will go on. And the fundraising will go on. Our friends, relatives + unknown warriors raise money, train hard, and make strides for so many worthy causes. I’d like to recognize one of our local warriors: my niece Natasha Greene. I suspect that her story will resonate with many of you on Marathon Monday and beyond.
For the past 5 years, Natasha has been on the Miles for Miracles Team in support of Boston Children’s Hospital. A former Special Needs teacher at BC’s Campus School, and currently a nursing school student in Boston, Sasha is all about giving back.
Last April, Sasha was ready to run. To raise money. To make a difference. And to honor two former students: Annie and Charlotte Masters. “I am so lucky to have taught these beautiful, strong 6-year old girls. Their strength, determination and smiles will inspire me through training runs this winter and from Hopkinton to Boston in April,” Natasha notes on her fundraising website.
With the silver lining of additional time to raise money, and to train during the warmer spring and summer months, Natasha is working toward her goal of raising $15,000 for Children’s Hospital Boston. Please click here to support Team Sasha and her Miles for Miracles effort!
Sasha, I’m so proud of you and can’t wait to cheer you on in September!
