SISTERHOOD SPOTLIGHTS ILLUMINATE LOCAL GIRLS WHO INSPIRE
By SisterHood Scribe: Gretchen Johnson | Needham Mom
Who doesn't have fond memories of their elementary school art classes?
Well, not long ago, in the Needham Times, I read about an amazing art teacher from Memorial Spaulding Elementary School in Newton
"Ms. Etscovitz" was recently honored by the Massachusetts Art Education Association as the "Elementary Arts Educator of the Year" !!
As a former classroom teacher, I loved reading about her collaborations with colleagues to integrate art into the curriculum school-wide, working in important life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and cooperation.
I'm guessing that Ms. E's students feel empowered during the "artistic journeys" that "they are in charge of" on a weekly basis!
Congratulations Alexandra!
We hope to meet you at our SisterHood Soiree later this year!
