FOUNDER: Gretchen Miller Johnson
FOUNDER: Gretchen Miller Johnson
- Miller Academy Coaching was founded by Gretchen Miller while teaching at Milton Academy in 1996
- In 2013, Gretchen's husband Chris Johnson signed on as a Math coach and helped to significantly scale the practice
- Both Johnsons have extensive teaching/tutoring experience along with 30+ years as marketing/sales execs*
- In 2018, the Johnson's daughter Annika helped to create NikaVika SisterHood, their first empowerment coaching program
- Gretchen is a BC/Harvard grad; Chris hails from Stevens Institute of Tech; + Annika is a Needham Public Schools student!
- Miller Academy provides SchoolHood coaching to students, educators and parents
- NikaVika was launched in the wake of the #MeToo movement, to bridge gaps around key life topics for girls K-8
- Topics like: Ambition, Equity-Diversity-Inclusion, GivingBack, and Mindfulness
- Our empowerment coaches are educators, entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, activists, scientists, and more!
- During the pandemic, we've shifted to a virtual format, except for small, safe, outdoor events whenever possible
- For 2021, a major initiative is to provide free (sponsored) coaching for underserved students + their families
- And to work in BrotherHood and NeighborHood (equity, diversity and inclusion) programming
- A major 2021 goal is also to attain Certified B Corporation status: companies who "do business to do good"
